Jon woke up to his alarm and slammed his hand on the snooze button, but felt something odd there. Papers. Jon sat up in bed and grabbed them, suddenly remembering his wish for a transcript of Sarah's dream.
Jon's vision began to clear, but he cursed out loud as he read the first few lines:
*SARAH: Jon? What are you doing here? You know this is a girls-only concert, right?
ME: I know it's girls-only. Why is that a problem?
SARAH: It's not. I was talking to someone else. Don't worry.*
Transcript. The papers were just the words people said! No descriptions, no inflections. It helped a bit, but not nearly as much as Jon wanted. He'd still have to piece together most of the night. And Jon had two obstacles in that regard: firstly, nobody had actually referred to him by name after Sarah's first word, so it would take a significant leap of logic to come to the conclusion that he'd changed genders in the dream. Secondly, the interlude about Karyn had actually been his own dream, and not Sarah's, so it was entirely absent from the text.
Jon came to the conclusion that he'd done enough to Sarah. He got her to listen to Bob Dylan, got her playing video games, and made her friends with Karyn. The only thing that worried him was the football game. He should have found some way to influence Sarah there, but it seemed that he hadn't. Oh well.
Jon tossed the transcript onto his desk, went through his morning routine, and left the house to go meet Karyn.
