One moment, Sarah was in her living room reliving her sixth birthday. The next, she was in a boy's bedroom. One she didn't recognize.
Sarah didn't know it, but she was in Jon's dream while she was still in her own. She now had all the same control that Jon had been exercising, and more. Jon had been inserting his consciousness into other people's minds, protected by an avatar shell. He'd been a spectator with influence on someone else's world. When Jen counted to ten sheep, the avatar dissolved, and what was left was Jon's unshielded consciousness within Sarah's world. She could do absolutely anything she wanted.
But Sarah didn't know it.
She turned and saw Jon sitting on his bed, and feelings began to rush into her. "Jon!" she gasped, hurrying over to his side and wrapping her arms around him. "Do you know where we are?"
Jon smiled. "We're in my bedroom, silly." Jon, for his part, really was dreaming. He wouldn't think to try and affect the world any more than Karyn or Sarah had in the last few nights.
Had Sarah never been in Jon's bedroom, she wondered. She didn't really have time to think about it, as the bedroom door opened and someone walked in.
