Women aren't the answer to all life's problems." Just then 2 boys appeared coming from the other end of the village. "We're here Grandfather." one of them said. The other gave us a general greeting. Fumihito place a hand on each of their shoulders "Nagisa-kun. Allow me to introduce 2 of my very precious grandsons to you." he said. I just nodded.
They were Akita and Natsuji, twins. Apparently, they were sons of the blacksmith. The blacksmith of the village was not a member of the clan. However, since he served such an integral part of their combat capabilities, it was only the most logical thing for the clan to offer him a wife. He took one of Fumihito's daughters. They had 4 children together but the delivering the twins caused complications. She died that day. Technically, the twins were therefore not Kirumes. Their surname was Tekka. Out of the 4, only Akita and Natsuji wanted to be ninja. The eldest, Fuyuhiko, wanted to inherit the smithy. Harumi, the only daughter of the family, wanted to go to the city to get a scholarly education. It wasn't like they were poor. Selling weapons and other tools in a ninja village was very profitable. "I'm sure you're proud of your grandsons returning to the clan proper, Fumihito-sama." I said. He nodded his head sagely. "As a shinobi myself I can see her in them. It pleases me greatly. They've been training hard and I told them that today was their day for Toryō Ni Hitasu." he declared. I nodded.

He could tell that I was not getting it. I really was not. He gave a quick cough to clear his throat. "I'm sure by now Keisuke had already told you about the rituals. You are a shinobi needing a partner. My grandsons are kunoichi that also need a partner. I hope you can gather the rest." I was, and I was not liking it. Before I could say anything, we heard Jiro from the distance. "Wait for me!! Am I late!?!?!?" he yelled as he sprinted towards us. Fumihito chuckled and said "No, Juro-kun. You're just on time. Like I was saying to Nagisa-kun, these are my grandsons. You two will be pairing up with them for Toryō Ni Hitasu and Efude Naderu Yoru together." I was getting roped into something really strange here. Both of the twins were stretching out. This was their big break. Once they got through this, they would be full-on members of the clan. They had every right to be here and do this as residents of the village that had an elder's blood flowing in their veins. It seemed that Akita and Natsuji were both talking this very seriously. Natsuji was the older one and he was looking calmer than Akita.
