After he was gone, I checked my menu. That was the end of that clan mission. That was pretty cute all in all. On my way to the storage shed, I ran into more side branch members. They did not seem to like me. one pointed and said "I can't believe he can walk around without shame like that." He was addressing a member next to him just loud enough for me to hear it when the member on the other side of him simply laughed and bellowed "Guys! Look at what the dirty Akaime Clan dragged in!" I rolled my eyes and ignored them. That was usually the best burn to give. Knowing that you simply do not matter to your supposed victim gets under the skin of those types of people. Due to that, they could not leave me alone. "Hey! We're talking to you, Nagisa!" one of them said as they got in front of me. Another mission pop up appeared in front of me. It was called "Sticks and Stones" The point of the mission was to endure all they had to throw at me. Both vitriol and projectile weapons. I could not attack them and I could not stop for more than 5 seconds at a time. I just sidestepped them all.
Continuing to move was the objective. At first, they tried to get in my way. Each time, I went around them, juked and jived them, jumped over or crawled under them. The effort was astonishing on both ends. They were getting pretty annoyed with just getting ignored as they tried making more and more complicated positions. That is when they started to throw insults at me as they followed a half step behind me. That was the easiest part. Who really cared what an NPC with no knowledge of who I was had to say about me. I sure did not. I was able to get home before they killed me with thrown kunai and rocks. That yet another mission down. I saw that Keisuke was still sleeping on the bed of hay they set up for us. I sat in my spot and waited for him to wake up. As it stood, I was 2 whole missions ahead of him. That was okay. If he went around the village, he could find more than enough busy work to catch up. I had already finished 7 of them. There were still many things to do. When Keisuke woke up, we walked around for a bit. The same 3 clan members still wanted to cause a problem.
Keisuke had not patience for that. "Stop yapping and come fight already. Don't be damn cowards!" he snapped at them. That got their attention really quick. It also drew their ire. "Causing a Scene" was the mission prompt that appeared. We would have to take out 3 clan members that dissented to us being here each. That meant a total of 6. We could do that. Together, we engaged the 3 that were insulting me in the morning and beat them up. More came to relieve them. After 8 went down I realized that we had not cleared it. I checked the menu again. When they said "each", they meant "each". I was too busy letting Keisuke shine so he could level up. I had only taken the final blow on one of the first 3 to appear. I quickly remedied that situation by beating the shit out of the next 2 that jumped in. Once the dust settled, Mio came by and saw the commotion. "Everyone, disperse. We are a clan, not a pack of wolves." she said bitingly. The defeated members quickly scampered off. She looked at us and said "I know it's not fun to be the odd one out, but please try to keep your dignity intact."
