I looked at the kids. "What happened?" I asked. "I was talking to Haruo about training to be a shinobi. He said that I'm too weak and I should be a kunoichi instead!" Kuro whined. I looked at Haruo. "Is this true?" I asked. He just pouted. "Just look at him! He's way too soft and weak to be a shinobi. There's really nothing wrong with being a kunoichi. I'm training to be one!" he said. Kuro balled his fists in anger! "Stop saying that!" he demanded. Haruo looked upset too. I could guess at what was going on here. Haruo was slightly older. They were probably close and Haruo wanted to share the same training experience. "Maybe if you were a bit more honest, things would go a bit better. Do you want your younger cousin to follow you in kunoichi training because you want to be closer to him?" I said bluntly. Haruo blushed a bright red and began to stammer hard. Kuro was shocked. "You wanna do the training together!?" he asked. Haruo tried to gain his composure several times but failed. "Well, you're my favorite cousin here. I want you to be safe. Especially with how weak you can be." he said.
Kuro
So close. At the end, his own pride got in the way of relating to his cousin. I could tell from the look on his face that he regretted it immediately. Kuro did not catch it after being insulted for the nth time either. "That's it! Let's just ask Nagisa-chan what he thinks!" he said. Haruo and Kuro looked up at me with a very determined look in their eyes. "Su-sure!" Haruo said. That was why they were here after all. I sighed and crouched down so I was at their level. "I'll do my best to answer if I can." I said. Kuro smirked and chuckle to himself. He must have been feeling quite confident on what my answer could be. "Can I become a good shinobi?" he asked me directly. A direct question like that deserved a direct answer. "Kuro, you can become a shinobi if you want." I told them. "I knew it!" he said as he jumped for joy. That was not what one of them wanted to hear. "No way! How come!?" Haruo demanded as he poked me in the chest. I just looked at Kuro. "Your younger brother snuck off and passed with the help of Goro and Rokuro. I assume you've been training longer, correct?" He nodded.
Haruo
With that, I said "If Juro could do it with less training, but with massive amounts of help, there is no reason Kuro can't if he trains as hard as he can and goes over at their normal time." Kuro said "I've been training extra hard to go for the exam since they came back!" he said with his chest puffed out in pride. It was an accomplishment to get stronger. "For genin hopefuls, you just have to fight a current genin, pass an obstacle course and break bricks in a single strike using your chakra. He could probably do it all on his own at that point. If he still wants to be a shinobi at that point, of course." Haruo glared at me and then took his cousin by the hands. "Okay. Maybe if you train every single day for years, you can do it. But won't it be more fun to be a kunoichi with me." Kuro shook his head and pulled his hands away. Haruo balled his hands into fists. "Fine! I'll prove it to you. You're not going to be a good shinobi." He then went hostile towards Kuro. I had the choice to pick sides. I was of course going to side with Kuro. Together, we beat him up quickly. "No fair! You had Nagisa help you." he said.
