Our answer to their offer would be the trap. We were told to meet them in a clearing of the forest. We got there first. Kirume Clan would simply ambush and kill whoever appeared. Keisuke and I only had to wait a few minutes before a trio of Akaime Clan member came out from behind the dark bushes. They looked like bad news. "We are here to give you our answer." I said. "Oh. I'm sure it would be a great answer." one of them said, rolling his eyes at us. I just glared at them. "You don't want to hear what we decided to do!? We can always change our minds, you know!" Keisuke snapped. "It doesn't matter. As soon as you stepped outside of that inn, you both signed your death warrants. I am going to enjoy killing you." said a second one, quite confidently. I was not too sure they were ready for what was about to happen. I could not give it away. It would make this pointless. Instead, I said "Fine then. We've killed plenty of you before. We can do some more blood spilling. Maybe Kirume will give us a raise in standing after giving them your heads and blowing your big plan." They laughed.
All 3 of them were cloaked and masked. It would be impossible for anyone to tell who they were unless they were incapacitated. That was when they went hostile to us. I shrugged as they approached slowly. We skirmished for about 10 seconds before I realized they were a whole lot tougher than the ones we killed before. "You're not genin, are you!?" I asked as I locked blades with one of them. "We're all chunin." he answered as he began to push me back a bit. Luckily, we were bailed out by a whole squad of ninja from Kirume Clan. Goro, Rokuro and Juro were part of the squad. I was not sure that we could take all 3 of them on our own. They also had some of their elder cousins and Ichiro to join them. All of them had whips kunai and shuriken. With the 6 Kirume genin shinobi and Keisuke at my side, I was able to do my best. At the end of the fight, we took them all out. It was a major victory for the clan. Even 3 chunin should have been able to take this amount of genin, especially ones so green, out easily. The corpses were beheaded and unmasked. We did not know any of them though.
The older cousins were in charge here. They told us retainers to carry the heads. That was one of our roles after all. We then hurried back to the village quickly. When we showed the heads, one of them were recognized by the bystanders. "That's that absolute cretin Chifuya! He killed Kenta! I was there!" one of the older female cousins said. The elders came and looked at a book. "Let's see if any of them made it into the Ninja Bounty Book." Naomi said. The Ninja Bounty Book was the in-world directory of all the notable ninja with high bounties. If you could bring them in, dead or alive, you could get a pretty sum at a city. None of them were in the book except for Chifuya, and he had a low bounty. That sucked. However, that meant that we still could go to the city and get the money for the clan. A squad was full with 6 people. A full party essentially. Juro and one of their cousins dropped out to make space for us. We were sent to the city in the morning. That would be our 3rd mission for the clan. It was easy. We got in and let the others get the bounty. We then left and walked back to the village.
