Making her way to the knitting club, a mix of emotions swirled through Carol's mind. She couldn't even remember a time when she had actually done any knitting.

"Hi there!" a woman called out and Carla came to a stop. Before her was another elderly lady. Dressed like she was straight out of the fifties, something about her felt right at home at a place like this. "Is this your first time?"

Carla nodded and found a needle and thread thrusted her way. Looking about the room for somewhere sit, she found an appropriate seat. Looking around, she found herself in similar company to a bunch of other old ladies. Dressed in a variety of old-fashioned outfits, Carla felt like she was in good company.

Getting to work on the needlework, it was a lot harder than she had expected it to be. Her hands for nearly all of her life had avoided these kind of activities and in turn, left her with little in the way of fine motor skills. But all it took was a couple attempts at threading the needle that the grandmother had gotten the hang of it.

"Great job." the 50's elderly lady announced and patted the grandmother's head. Leaning right into it, felt quite good. Not that Carla said that out loud. The embarrassment alone would be more than enough to prevent her from going through with saying that in the slightest.

"Uh... thanks." she answered back, unsure how to feel here. Looking down at her handiwork, she was more than happy to agree. But that didn't change how strange it felt. Perhaps that was something else Carla needed to work on if she wished to come across as an elderly woman.

The next forty-five minutes passed in a flash.

"That's all for today, ladies." the 50's elderly lady announced and Carla watched her companions get up. Exiting the room, she had this gracious host were the only ones who remained.

Does May come and pick her up?
