Both Mikey and Tommy stared at Jon, their faces filled with horror at what she had done. Mikey opened his mouth to protest, but quickly snapped it shut as he felt movement next to him. It was Tommy bumping into him, but it was enough to break the nerve of both boys. They fled.
As soon as she saw that her soon to be sister was gone, Jon started to smile, but her joy quickly faded when she saw Karyn. Her arms were folded against her breasts and Jon knew that her friend was not impressed.
"A disease? You think being female is a disease?" Karyn spat out.
"Damn it Karyn. You know I don't think there is anything wrong with women" Jon snapped back.
"Then why did you make that wish?" Karyn pressed.
"Because I was afraid you'd do something stu.. never mind" Jon said.
"Unlike you? You've made the dumbest wish of all of us" Karyn said.
"Huh?" Jon said, confused.
"Diseases spread, 'Amber'. People with diseases get ostracized" Karyn said.
"Not if I wish that it is limited to just me, Mikey and Tommy. Karyn, one more thing. Don't call me Amber. Got it?" Jon growled.
Meanwhile, Mikey had fled back to his room with Tommy. The moment Tommy closed the door, Mikey grabbed his wishing coin.
"I thought you was going to get rid of that thing" Tommy said alarmed.
"Not anymore" Mikey said as he wistfully looked at his watch, even though he knew he had a very long wait before he could use it.
