When Jon opened the front door, he was surprised to see Tim Brant. Jon had three friends: Karyn, Tim and Pete Roberts. He spent most of his time with Karyn, since he considered her as his best friend, but on occasion he spent time with all three of his friends, like if they hung out at the mall or went on a road trip.
"Tim? Uh, what's up?" Jon asked.
"Hi, Jon. Karyn told me you got something in the mail."
"She did?" What did she say to him? More importantly, why did she say anything at all? Jon thought that he and Karyn were going to keep the stone a secret. He didn't want everyone in town to know about it.
"Yeah," Tim answered. "She said it's some sort of ... artifact?"
"Uh, yeah. Something my grandfather found on one of his digs."
"Cool. Can I see it? You know how interested I am in archeology."
Jon hesitated. He wasn't sure if he should tell Tim about the wishing stone. Yes, he was his friend. But he was really hoping to just keep the knowledge of the stone's existence to just himself and Karyn.
What should Jon do?
