Through the crack in the door, Jon watched his younger self turn on one of his old PlayStation games. He reminisced how much he liked playing that. Five years was a long time ago. Compared to modern standards, the PSX system wasn't as sophisticated. But it was still fun.
After fifteen minutes, there was a knock on the door. Jon's twelve year old self paused his game and opened the door.
"Grandpa!"
"Hey ya, Jon. How's my favorite grandson?" he asked, smiling.
"Great," the young Jon said, smiling. "When did you ..."
"When did I get here? Just now. I'll be leaving on another expedition soon and I just wanted to drop by before I left."
"How long are you staying?"
"Just tonight. I'll be leaving in the morning."
Jon thought back. He remembered this. His grandfather did leave in the morning and Jon didn't see him for another fifteen months. He wrote letters during that time, but it wasn't like being with him.
Jon's younger self walked out into the hall, leaving his grandfather to close the bedroom door for him.
This might be his opportunity to talk with his grandfather.
