The former ghost girl blinked. "Um, no. My name's Diane." Peering back at her double, she asked, "And is your name Jonnie?"

"Jon," he replied. "But I guess it's Jonnie, now. I wonder why your name changed if you already had a girl's name."

Any more discussion was interrupted as Jon's mom called again. "Jonnie! Kelly! Do you hear me?"

"Coming!" Jon called out, thinking it best to answer his mother before he and his new twin sister got into even more trouble. With one more glance at the stone in her hand, he sighed, "Look, you can hold on to the stone for now if that'll make you feel better. But we'd better go. Keep that stone somewhere safe so you won't make any accidental wishes."

Diane nodded. "Alright. And Jon, I'm sorry for doing this to you. I just being dead, it's " Her words faltered.

Seeing her expression, Jon patted her gently on the shoulder. "Yeah, I understand. We'll figure this out, okay? C'mon."

As they headed out of the room, Diane slipped the stone into the pocket of her jeans which had recently been boy's jeans. It seemed her wish had not changed much about Jon's wardrobe except to alter the fit to more feminine proportions. Unless she wished otherwise, Diane apparently dressed like a tomboy.

For Jon, however, the magic had to create his new life from scratch. As such, there was nothing boyish about his clothes. In a relaxed sundress and casual sandals, he made quite a contrast to Diane. Still, he felt glad the sandals had no heel.

As the twins made their way through the house, Jon could see that all the photos featuring him now showed his current form at various stages in life. Diane also appeared at his side in many of them. This would take some getting used to.

When they entered the laundry room, their mother turned to them. "There you are. Jonnie, you go take that pile over there. Kelly, help me with these sheets."

Jon headed for the indicated pile. Suddenly, his mother's hand gripped his shoulder. "Kelly, didn't you hear me? I told Jonnie to take care of that."

Somewhat puzzled, Jon returned to her side, following her further instructions. As he got the first bed sheet folded, it all became clear. Having taken ownership of his original body, Diane had also gained his original identity, including his name. Then, Jon had been given a body based off the original, but it still did not count as Diane. Therefore, Kelly had been born. So technically, the person called Diane was still dead.

Later, Jonnie and Kelly returned to their shared room, each carrying a stack of folded laundry. The former boy frowned at the feminine clothing in his arms. Maybe he could ask Diane if he could switch styles with her.

No. Those things could wait. There were more important problems to deal with first.
