"I wish I didn't have to take Zoe and her friends to the mall," he said, forgetting that he was holding the stone.
When it glowed, he had an urge to close his eyes. And when he opened them, he panicked. What did that wish do?
Zoe came into the room, holding a set of car keys. He immediately noticed something different about her. Her face...it was similar. Zoe took after their mother, but there were subtle differences than had shifted. She was still wearing black, and something Gothlike...but less so. She also looked to be college-age.
"Are you ready to go?" She asked. "The sooner I get you to the mall, the sooner I can do what I want to do."
He cringed, realizing what was different about her. The stone had made her old enough to drive herself to the mall...or rather, it had made it so she was taking him to the mall, instead of the opposite.
He hoped that was the limit to the change. He looked around his room. There were subtle changes in there. A few different items. But he seemed himself. Video games, mostly same books.
He put down the stone and headed into the hall and passed by Zoe's room and frowned. That was very different. Then he caught sight of the family photo on the wall and nearly passed out.
