"I wish I didn't have to take Zoe and her friends to the mall," he said, forgetting that he was holding the stone.
When it glowed, he had an urge to close his eyes. And when he opened them, he panicked. What did that wish do?
Zoe came into the room, holding the keys to the car. There was something different about her. "Are you ready to go?" She asked. "The sooner I get you to the mall, the sooner I can do what I want to do."
He cringed, realizing what was different about her. The stone had made her old enough to drive herself to the mall...or rather, it had made it so she was taking him to the mall, instead of the opposite.
He hoped that was the limit to the change.
"Come on," Zoe insisted. "Put down the stupid rock and let's go."
