When the light dissipated, Jon saw his grandfather standing in the middle of the room. Just like the "holographic" image, he looked much younger. Maybe in his 50's? But it definitely was him.
Jon ran over to him and hugged him. "I missed you, Grandpa."
He looked down at his grandson and smiled. "I missed you too."
"Sorry to end this reunion, but ... we need your help," Athena said.
"And I need yours. The people who are after me are cunning and relentless. They'll stop at nothing to reacquire the artifacts."
"Reacquire?" Jon asked. "You mean you stole them?"
"Yes, to put it bluntly. These items should never have been in their hands. I thought it only right to take them away from them."
"I thought you said you found them in Peru?" Zoe asked. "You said so in your letters."
"That's a bit of a fabrication on my part. Sorry I had to alter the truth. But I didn't want to tell you how I really got them. How could I let you think I was a thief after my apparent death? That's not how I wanted you to remember me." He paused and took a breath. "Now, what do you need help with?"
"Karyn's gone. Someone accidentally wished her away and I don't know how to bring her back," Jon said.
His grandfather thought for a moment, then said "Okay, I can bring back Karyn."
Jon smiled.
"But you have to help me with my pursuers. All of you."
"Okay," Jon said, speaking for everyone.
His grandfather nodded, then proceeded to bring Karyn back.
