After a while, with Andrew essentially a passenger in his own body, he just zoned out, his mind wandering. His muscles were getting a workout, but he just kept working until each task was done. If someone were to stop by, all they'd see were two MaidBots working, and no signs of anything else.

He also did not have the internal timekeeping of a machine, so after a while, he lost all track of time. "All tasks complete. Returning to station," his mouth said.

Finally, he could take no more. He screamed. "I am Andrew!! I am Andrew! I AM ANDREW!!" Suddenly, he and the other Maidbot stopped. =Did I do that?=

He tried one more time. "I AM ANDREW!!!" He screamed with as much force as he could. And he heard it....except it didn't come out of his mouth. It came out of the mouth of the MaidBot. And it seemed to have thrown her off a bit. But only for a second before they resumed their walk to the charging station.

There was one positive note. The MaidBots might need electricity, but they were programmed to derive it from several different sources, including a microbial fuel cell that could be charged by eating food. That battery was recharged every night. Andrew didn't know that, but he did know there was a disgusting substance being poured down his throat. also, he didn't know it would sustain him, only that he was less hungry afterward. The MaidBots also received an electrical charge through a connector in the charging station, although for Andrew, all it was doing was recharging the receiver around his neck.

In the dark of the station, after hours of labor, he finally fell asleep. However, the receiver was still linked to the other MaidBot. MaidBots did not sleep. During the course of the recharge cycle, it would perform maintenance activities on its memory, such as organizing and indexing memory files, updating data files, and more. However, as it analyzed the data received from the link, it began to generate errors...as much of the information was seemingly random, and did not follow the format it was used to. But it had been programmed to adapt.
