Jon opened the door to his house and immediately noticed his mom in the living room, talking with his sister and her friend Athena. He sighed to himself. Why did he have to be the one with the crazy mother? He was already considered a loser by the popular crowd (not that he really cared about the popular crowd, but still ...). Wasn't that enough? Did he really have to endure the humiliation of people calling his mom crazy? Of course, Jon knew she wasn't crazy. She was just different. It was just that her religion was ... maybe a little too different for people to understand and accept.
Also, with Zoe having so much in common with her, Jon sometimes wondered if he was adopted.
Karyn followed Jon up to his room, where, after closing the door, he took out the wishing stone.
"I've been thinking about my mom," Jon said slowly.
"You and everyone else."
"Karyn."
"Sorry. I know she's your mother, but look at her. You could do better."
"I know," Jon said.
"Can I see the stone? I think I may have figured out a way to reverse my wish."
"Karyn, you know the rules. Wishes can't be reversed."
"Okay, then. Reword it. Anyway, I'm sure this will work. I might as well give it a try."
"Fine," Jon said, tossing her the stone.
"I wish that when I said I had big boobs, I meant that I had big boobs in relation to ..." She stopped when she saw Jon shaking his head. "What?"
"I don't think you can just change the wish by changing the wish's meaning."
"Crap. Oh, I wish my breasts and hair were back to normal," she said, but she said it out of desperation, not because she actually thought it would be granted.
But to their amazement, it was.
Karyn's hair slowly returned to its normal color and length, while her breasts clearly shrunk in size. She stared down at herself, stunned. "It ... worked?"
Jon stood up from his bed. "I don't get it. It can't reverse wishes."
"Who cares? I've got my own look back."
"I care," Jon said. "If there's something wrong with the stone, we probably shouldn't use it."
