And suddenly, she was back at school. She checked her watch. 3:50PM.
She approached Jon and Jennifer...but his mother's car was pulling out of the parking lot.
"This stinks," Jennifer complained.
"What does?" Zelda asked.
"Mom's case, the one she left early because she wrapped up. She just got a call the settlement fell through. She had to head back to the office," Jennifer said.
Zelda had a distinct feeling that Sarah Madison was going to be very busy at work for a while. She smiled and looked at Jon, who was giving her an odd look. "That's a shame."
