He'd made his wish at 3:47PM, after he got home from school Tuesday afternoon. It meant he had until 3:47PM on Wednesday to enjoy Melissa Black...who seemed to be very enjoyable.
He'd wished for a new girlfriend every day. Karyn, despite their relationship, wasn't really a girlfriend of a romantic nature. The word could refer to a girl who was a friend. Today he had a real girlfriend...he wondered what tomorrow would bring.
As he wandered around the mall with Melissa, he did discover the downside of having her as a girlfriend...shopping. He stayed with her as she tried on new outfits...sort of fun. But four different nearly identical tops, he was hoping they'd go back to something he'd find more fun.
They made plans to meet up before school, and plans to hang out all weekend, and he went home. He still had homework to do. That wouldn't change from day to day.
