"Jeeze, what did you do to piss her off so much?" Zoe asked. "Not that it is that hard."
"I'm..not sure," he said, honestly, he said, looking at the two girls walking away. This Karyn had dark hair, and dark clothes...and it appeared, a dark attitude.
Zoe, by comparison, looked to be more average. She had red hair, which reminded him a bit of Karyn before her wish. "Well, better to stay out of her way. Come on, I'll walk you home," she offered. She seemed a lot calmer than original Zoe. She noticed after a few seconds, he wasn't moving. "It isn't about that Mama's boy crack, is it? I mean, you follow the rules..."
"Not always," Jon said. "I..."
"So, you do know why Karyn is so pissed off?" Zoe looked at him sternly. "Well, spill it."
"No...I really don't. I just...feel like, I did something," Jon said, honestly. Like made a wish that was well past spiraling out of control.
She took his arm. "Let's go."
He let himself be led somewhere. This new Zoe...was she a girlfriend, or just a female friend? She still had Zoe's way of being direct, but without the temper and the profanity, which apparently now Karyn more than made up for. So...getting to know one changed person down....now he guessed it was time to meet yet another new family, unless some of them weren't within range...although to be honest, he felt like the rules of the wish had gotten thrown out the window long before now.
