Usually used in combination with other techniques, but several prominent guitarists use it primarily or exclusively (Eddie Van Halen and Steve Hackett of Genesis, to name a couple.) Actually striking the string dead-on might be tricky depending on how fine a point her claws have, but on the other hand, it'd actually be easier to keep the "finger" tips out of the way of the other strings.
