Biff looked up at the clock. There were only about ten minutes left for his class. Was it that late already?
For the first time ever, he actually enjoyed science. He certainly wouldn't tell his friends this, though. Especially after he told them to reject everything from their new lives.
He was just finishing up an experiment when suddenly a girl said his name. "Biff?" He looked over and saw Patricia Kim, a geeky Asian American girl who was friends with Kyla Leeson. "Uh, hi," she said, waving.
Biff waved back.
She shyly moved closer. "Um, I was wondering if ... um."
"Spit it out," Biff said, getting a little annoyed by Patricia's hesitation.
"I was wondering if maybe I could study with you tonight."
"Tonight's the big game," Biff said.
"Yeah, but you never go to it."
"I don't?" He couldn't believe that. Football was his life. Former life, he had to remind himself. He was now a geek. So he did whatever geeks did. It sickened him to think that, but it was the truth, no matter how much he tried to deny it. And he was really trying a lot.
"Not that I can remember. So ... um, what do you think? Can I come over?"
"Sure, whatever."
Patricia smiled. "Thanks, Biff." She walked back over to her own table, leaving Biff to finish his own work.
And before he knew it, the class was over.
