Just then, Jon's mother called from downstairs, "Hey, kids, dinner's ready!"
Jon and Karyn headed for the kitchen, where Karyn saw the food laid out on the table and said, "Oh, it looks delicious, Ms. Gibson. But I always feel like I'm putting you out when I stay for dinner."
"Nonsense, Karyn," said Jon's mother Sheila as she took off her apron and hung it on a nearby peg. "I always cook too much anyway, and besides, you're practically one of the family anyway."
Jon and Karyn exchanged knowing glances as they sat down across from each other -- they'd used the rock to spend some time as brother and sister (not to mention sister and sister).
Mikey ran in and sat down next to Jon, Zoe clomped in on her heavy boots and sat down next to Karyn, and Sheila sat at the head of the table and started dishing up the lasagna she had prepared.
It wasn't too long until Jon suddenly knew Sarah had made another wish: "I wish Biff was here so I could show him this awesome rock." He looked up at Karyn, who'd obviously also had the wish pop into her brain, since she had paused with a bite on her fork halfway to her mouth, and was looking at Jon with a worried expression. He held up one finger and carefully mouthed "One month" for her benefit.
"What's going on?" asked Sheila.
Jon still had the finger held up. He turned and said, "Uh, you're number one, Mom." At that moment, there was another wish: "I wish you realized what I did to your cock."
Now Karyn looked even more worried -- she'd stopped in mid-chew. Next Sarah would probably let Biff hold the rock that he now knew to be powerful, and then, who knows?
Karyn gulped down the wad of food that was in her mouth and asked, "May I be excused for a minute?" as she stood up and glared at Jon.
He was halfway out of his seat when reality changed.
