"Wait a minute," Jon said. "He's your grandfather? He's younger than you!"
"Ah, but I'm a Timelord."
"What the hell is a Timelord?" Zoe asked.
"Well, it's someone that's much older and much wiser than you. What was your name again?" he quickly asked.
"Zoe."
The Doctor smiled and held out his hand. "Hello, I'm the Doctor." She shook hands, before he dashed off into the house.
"Hey, where are you going?" Jon asked, running after him. This Doctor fellow seemed to be in a hurry to find something.
"The TARDIS picked up a bit of alien tech here. I'm just trying to find it."
"TARDIS?"
"Yes, that's my spaceship," he said, pointing out a window at the blue box, which still sat on Jon's front lawn. "Time and Relative Dimensions in Space. With a long name like that, you really need an abbreviation." He looked down at some sort of weird device with flashing lights, then yelled out "Got it!" He ran upstairs. And Jon followed him ... to his bedroom.
Jon bursted through the door to see him holding the wishing stone. "Hey, that's mine!"
"Oh? Is it? Well, this little innocent thing is actually a very powerful piece of alien technology. Doesn't belong on Earth, you see."
"My grandfather gave it to me. It's mine."
"Sorry. I have to take it." He stuffed it in his pocket and walked past Jon and into the hallway. Then he suddenly spun around. "You wouldn't mind coming with me, would you? Travel in time, see the stars?"
"Come with you?"
"You are family."
Jon thought about it. "Can we all come?"
"Sure, why not?"
So then it was settled. Jon, Zoe, Olie, and their mom went with the Doctor in his TARDIS, where they would travel through space and time, and encounter a multitude of aliens on their odyssey.
Walking into the TARDIS, Zoe and her two brothers were amazed by the ship, which was bigger (much bigger) on the inside as it was on the outside. Of course, their mother was used to it, although she hadn't stepped inside a TARDIS in almost 40 years.
"How can it be bigger on the inside than on the outside?" Olie asked.
"Dimensionally transcendental," the Doctor said.
"What does that mean?" Olie asked.
"It means it's bigger on the inside than on the outside. Now! Where should we go first? The past? The future? Or maybe a trip around the universe?"
"You mean this thing can travel in time too?" Jon asked.
"Yep. So, where do you want to go?" the Doctor asked.
