The creature levitated down the hall, observing each of the bodies to choose from: Jon's Goth sister Zoe, Jon's little brother Mikey, his mom, and his dad. If the creature had lips, it would smile. The choices were good ones.
Unfortunately, as powerful as the creature was, it couldn't completely take over a person's body, but rather influence his or her behavior. But, of course, if the one being possessed totally gave up his or her control, then the creature could actually do more than just influence. It could take physical control over the body.
