"Say, now that the family's all together, why don't we go out to dinner?"
"Great idea!" Jared said, "Just let me get changed!" He turned to Jessica, "And you better wear something nicer than those ratty jeans, young man!" He went upstairs to his parents room, but not before receiving a playful slap on the ass from his father. Jessica's head was spinning. She looked at her wrist and then, like a light switch, everything clicked. The bracelet was still there even though she'd switched clothes with her son. It had given her an uneasy feeling when she first picked it up - it must have been responsible for this. When she made contact with her son...
"So, Jessica," her husband said to her, "Any luck with the ladies on campus?"
Jessica stuttered. "Wha?" She said, almost incoherently. She just didn't know what to say. This made absolutely no sense.
"Are you all right?" Dean asked. "You look like something's wrong..."
Jessica tried to say something when Jared's voice called from downstairs. "Jessica, before you get changed, please move your laundry into the laundry room. I nearly tripped on it when I came in."
"You'd better hop to it," Dean told her.
Jessica frowned. How could he not see anything was wrong? She turned toward the laundry. She needed to wrap her mind around this...figure it out. At least moving it would give her a moment to think...
Then..it occurred to her, right there near the door...Jared's graduation photo was on the wall...She hurried to it.
