The Panthers were up 14–0 before anyone knew it. Mount Valley's defensive unit was not tackling well, and the fleet Panthers receivers were catching every ball Sarrah threw their way. Lake Point's defense did their part, preventing the Vixens quarterback from doing much of anything before shi got sacked.
While the defense was back on the field, Tiff Barnett, one of the tight ends, walked up near Sarrah, who was sitting on the bench and reviewing the playbook.
"Hey Sarrah!"
"What?" Shi reluctantly looked up, hir attention pulled away.
"There's a boi in the crowd who looks like Biffanie's identical twin. You think I'd have a shot with hym?"
"Ugh," Sarrah replied on multiple levels. Tiff was constantly interested in what was in bois' pants—and getting it in hirs. Shi was making this comment while Sarrah was trying to remain focused on the game. And it brought to mind all the events of the last couple of days—a total distraction. Biffanie was hot, and now that there was suddenly a second Biffanie, half the team was gonna try and get after hym.
Shi did not have time for this. "I dunno what you're seeing out there, but I think you'd have a shot of making it past their D-line." Shi gestured at the other team's defense, also on its sideline.
"You know, that's interesting," Baylie noted to Gwen during a timeout. "The whole game is built around agility and being quick. The O-line isn't quite as huge. The running backs remind me more of a Danny Woodhead or..."
"I don't know who that is," Gwen rebutted, "and they won't either."
"It's so weird hearing a boi talk about football the way hei'd talk about foundation or blush," Chardeena chimed in.
"There are a lot of bois here, though?"
"Well, homecoming. And senior night. Other games? Most of us don't bother."
Baylie looked at hys siblings sitting on the other side. "How many football games do you go to a year?"
"Ehh... It's boring... We just like watching the cheerleaders," Brookie replied, making Baylie’s jaw drop in shock. "All this gurl stuff is weird. I'd rather be on my phone scrolling through BoiTok or something."
That reminded Baylie. "Oh, I did get a new phone number... Did they get you a phone yet?"
Gwen nodded. The two pulled out their phones and exchanged numbers. "Just like old times...sorta."
"Tell me about it... They put my phone in this pink and gaudy Boi Mode," Baylie indicated with some disgust.
