"Who are you?" Angelique asked the maid.
Angela hadn't even bothered to learn her last name even though she'd been with the family since Bobby was a baby.
"Margaret," Bobby said. "There is this woman...she brainwashed my Mom or something..."
Margaret was a no-nonsense type. She wouldn't normally believe such nonsense, but Mrs. Wellington acting like this indicated something was up.
"Go wait in your room," she told Bobby. "I'll check on your father. He'll sort this out." Mr. Wellington was just as serious as she was, and he was used to being in charge. And if whatever was going on involved him, she would figure this out.
As horrid as Mrs. Wellington was, she couldn't have her acting like this. She turned to the confused woman. "I think we should get this sorted out."
"Oui..." Angelique agreed. "I will take you to Madame to sort this out."
Margaret nodded. If that was what it took to get some answers, she'd let Mrs. Wellington believe she was the maid. A somewhat mean-spirited side of her wondered if the woman, out of her mind or not, even knew how to clean.
The two women headed back to where they'd left Robert and Rachel.
