Jennifer stepped inside the gas station, and suddenly felt dizzy, closing her eyes for a moment. Suddenly, she could hear the sound of people talking.
Opening her eyes again, everything was different. She was in...the same gas station, but it looked clean and new, not like the abandoned and empty place she'd walked into a moment before. There was a small food section, and a strange man at the counter.
There was something so seemingly normal about it, it freaked Jennifer out. She did a complete 360, looking at everything, looking out the door and seeing no sign of the car they'd driven up in.
She did see several cars drive by, but there was something odd about them she couldn't put her finger on. The town, or what she could see of it, standing there in the middle of the gas station, seemed suddenly occupied.
Where's Daniel? She thought. This was weird enough, but she was even more worried about him.
"You just going to stand there?" The attendant called.
