David stared at himself in the vanity mirror. Gilmore had gone too far this time. He'd woken up confused, disoriented. The last thing he remembered was talking to Janice at the coffee shop and now... now it was the next morning and he was in some strange girl's bedroom - and in her pajamas. And he was sore all over. And his hair!
And for some reason, he had butterflies in his stomach. Something he couldn't quite shake, like there was something he should be excited about doing today. But he didn't want to do anything today, except maybe strangle Doctor Gilmore. Or did he? He was so confused.
He heard a spate of giggles coming from downstairs, and suddenly felt left out. His curiosity got the better of him and he emerged from the bedroom and followed the laughter. David stood there, gobsmacked. His family returned the look.
"OMG Kayla, you're not ready yet?!?" His father nearly shrieked. His mom and brother looked equally shocked, and even a little frightened. They were all wearing matching white lacy dresses, with black tights, and their hair was done up with a white headband. It was a nice Blair Waldorf look, David noted without a second thought.
"Are you guys OK?" David asked.
"We're fine!" his mother said, "But why aren't you dressed? It's almost time to go!"
"But don't you guys, like, see what Doctor Gilmore is doing here?!"
"Who's Doctor Gilmore?" she asked.
Even in light of everything that had happened the past few days, David was still in disbelief. This was his family! His mom, his dad, his brother... his brother... Kayla? No, that wasn't his brother's name that was his dad's name. No... wait... ugh. This was the last straw. He had to get to Gilmore. Somehow, he had to get up to his facility.
But first he had to get ready, there was no way he was leaving the house without doing his hair and makeup first!
