Theresa headed toward Room 3 with two extra towels. She'd been doing everything at the Motorway Motel for years, and had seen it all. In her early sixties now, she had considered retirement, but she enjoyed working.
She knocked on the door, and offered the towels to the guest inside. "Here you are," she said.
"Thank you," he said.
Suddenly, Theresa blinked. The door was closed. She didn't remember it slamming. She headed back down to the front desk. This job wasn't that glamorous, but it paid the bills. She couldn't imagine doing it for the rest of her life though. She caught sight of herself in the mirror in the motel's small lobby. She wasn't getting any younger, she'd be nineteen next month. She checked her watch. It was later than she'd thought...almost quitting time.
Meanwhile, up in Room 3, the male guest deposited his towels in a small pile in the corner. Now that there were new guests, things would get more interesting for him.
