"Reservation for Winters," Rebecca said. "Two beds." She looked over at her son, Tyler, who was fiddling with his video game.
"We were out of doubles," the older woman at the desk said. "We arranged for a single bed and a cot. Sorry for the inconvenience."
"No, that will be fine," she said. Rebecca and her son were moving to town for work, but hadn't yet rented a place to live. She'd wanted him to be part of the decision. "We'll only be staying a few nights, I hope."
