Next door, Murray perked up. His domain had guests once again. He could sense the three bullies. He'd influenced one of them...but he'd thought they'd try to have some sort of teenage party, not pick on a poor defenseless boy.
He grew a bit angry at that. But then he calmed himself. He could do something about this, certainly.
He thought about his options as he willed the door to close and lock behind them.
Inside the house, the three bullies panicked for a moment as the door slammed shut. "It was just a gust of wind," Tom insisted. "Don't go all wimpy on me, fellows. Let's do what we came here to do," he said, reaching for the bag of supplies he'd brought to humiliate Jay.
