Laura just sat there, slack-jawed. Her entire life had been turned upside down. Or had it? If her memories had been altered in some way, then maybe this was the life that she was supposed to have. Even so, she couldn't imagine working at a filthy place like the Pussy Kat Klub, even as just a waitress. Walking around in that tight revealing outfit, flirting with customers and occasionally letting them feel her up. It was disgusting. And she couldn't believe how calm Nadine was telling her about it. As if there was nothing wrong with her mother working at a strip club.
"Mom, are you sure you're okay?" Nadine asked.
And from what her daughter told her, she never went to church, any church of any kind. She wasn't a criminal and never cheated on her husband (when he was around), but ... no church?! This life was a nightmare!
"Mom, come on. Tell me what the hell is going on with you."
