A catch or two, a flip or spin, Leonard took his time observing the Remote as a physical object. It was large and quite clunky, feeling more like a panel from Star trek then a household appliance. As the news went by, he looked at the 'assimilate' button and got an odd idea. Surely if this remote was magic, he came to the conclusion that, possibly, it has something of a will of its own and might backfire, but disregarding that, what if he could hop into a show just like the movie Pleasantville? Or Fat Albert, not really an example he wanted to think about but that technically applied aswell! Things might get even more complicated if he brought the remote in too - in fact, maybe he could depend on exactly that.
With a smile, he flipped thru the channels and waited for something good to land on, before hitting the 'Assimilate' button.
He wasn't even aware that he was holding it backwards, and at himself!
The remote, and more importantly its beholder began to meld and swirl into the tv, his hypothesis somehow turning out with more validity than anyone would've guessed. Contorting and stretching him like spaghetti, a look of awe and shock went on his face as he was digitized into tessellated portions like a jig saw puzzle, the portions shattered apart and then swirled into the television's gluttonous screen, before it simply consumed him and the remote completely. The television stayed on far past his own capture, leaving him and the remote trapped in, whatever was left on.
Leonard and the remote were sent inside the TV and into none other then...
