Melissa, Jessica, and Allison didn't see Sarah until at least two hours later. And when they did, their jaws nearly dropped to the floor. Apparently, Sarah had been very busy, because her whole look looked different. For a shirt, she wore a white bare-midriff tank top, which showed off her new navel piercing. She was wearing shiny leggings that looked so tacky on her. And speaking of tacky, she was wearing large hoop earrings and lots of cheap bracelets. On her feet were 5-inch stiletto heels. And when she got closer to them, they saw other things that were different, like her hair. She apparently went to a salon because her blond hair was now formed into tight cornrows like a black girl would have.
Had Sarah completely lost her mind? If anyone from school saw her like this, her image would be ruined for years to come.
"Hey, y'all," Sarah said. "Ah gots me a new look. How ya like it?"
The three girls were speechless.
