"Are you expecting me to believe you're Jon and you turned into a girl?" asked Zoe. "Who's going to fall for that?"
"How can I prove it to you?" Jon asked.
"Oh, let me see ..." said Zoe, thinking about something Jon would only know, but basically just humoring this girl. Did she really think Zoe was that stupid to believe that her brother had turned into a girl? "Okay, how about this? Tell me what I did to get grounded two years ago ..."
"You've gotten grounded a lot of times two years ago," Jon interrupted.
"I'm not finished! Tell me what I did to get grounded two years ago when my mom said that I couldn't go out for three weeks."
"You got a tattoo."
Zoe looked at her, still a bit skeptical. But the girl was right. And there was no hesitation in her voice. It's like she really knew the answer. "Okay, you got that one. But you won't get this one. What's the name that Jon used to call me when we were younger? It used to drive me crazy when ..."
Without hesitation, Jon answered. And Jon answered correctly.
Zoe looked at the girl. Could it be that this girl really was Jon? She shook her head. No, she wasn't convinced. This was insane. People couldn't just change genders like that. It just wasn't possible. Or was it?
"Okay, if you really are Jon, then tell me something that only the two of us know," Zoe said. She figured that if she asked the girl something vague like this, she could catch her.
