Karyn smiled at Jon and said "Hey, Jon-baby. Me and the girls are gonna go to the mall. Wanna hang out with us?"
"Girls? What girls?" Jon asked. Karyn only had three friends and they were all guys.
Karyn giggled. That was odd. "My friends, silly. You know, Sarah, Tiffany, Melissa. The rest of the team, mainly."
Jon's eyes went wide. Was she talking about the cheerleading team? Jon had to wrap his mind around that. Karyn hated Sarah McMillan. She wouldn't hang out with her in a million years ... and vice versa.
"Uh ... well ..."
Karyn giggled again. "You're so cute when you stutter. But I really, like, need an answer. Sarah's gonna be here any minute."
"Sarah McMillan is coming here?" Jon asked.
"Well, of course, silly. How else am I gonna get to the mall?"
Suddenly, they heard a car horn being honked.
"That's her," Karyn said, brightening with excitement. "Well?" she asked Jon.
