Angela dropped her purse on the bed, then sat down and sighed. It was a long and taxing day. What she really needed right now was a little rest and relaxation. She moved to take off her skirt suit jacket, but before she could, the cellphone in her purse began to ring.
She opened her purse and took out the phone, then answered it. "Hello?"
"One ... nine ... seven ... seven," a man's voice said.
Angela's eyes glazed over for a few seconds, then they cleared. "I understand," she said, then hung up and put the phone back in her purse. She then picked up the purse and put it over her shoulder and then left the bedroom.
"You're going out?" Allison asked from the living room. But her mother didn't answer her. She just walked straight to the front door and left the house. To say that Allison was puzzled would be an understatement. Didn't her mom know that tonight was Bible study night? Where exactly was she going?
Outside, Angela calmly walked to the back of her car and opened the trunk. Inside was a briefcase that wasn't there when she left the school. She opened it and took out the gun that was inside. Then she took out the silencer that was also inside the briefcase and attached it to the barrel of the gun. She looked down with eyes full of cold calculation as she did this. Then she closed the briefcase and closed the trunk, and then walked to the driver-side door and opened it. She got inside the car and started it up, placing her purse and the gun on the passenger-side seat.
Then she drove to her destination.
