As we continued on, we got to the red carpet. Paul, Brett and I made sure to give them all a final once over as they were getting off of the bus. The people on the street were all cheering loudly. When they were all on the street, it only got louder. I said to them "Hard to imagine before we started, huh? This is your day. Enjoy yourselves but be careful." All the performers that were here got to walk the red carpet and talk to others. The rest of us were shuffled on towards the back where the actual ceremony was. No one wanted to talk to the people that were behind the scenes. That was fine with me. People wanted to know where Wendy, Simon, Erica and Cain all were. As members of groups, it made sense they would be together. They were conspicuous by their absence. "Don't worry. They are having car trouble. They should be here soon." Paul said. "Could they not just ride in the bus with you guys!?" one journalist asked. "They could. We gave them the choice. They have freedom." I told them all. That was what needed to be said. We moved on. The others followed the same line.
By the time we got inside, there was a ton of publicity on the clan. It was time for the non televised awards. There were dozens of rewards. However, not everyone there wanted to hear about all of them. Paul got his Jukie and gave a great speech. Chester and Kim accepted the award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. Their speech was short and to the point. They liked the attention but knew better than to stay in the spotlight for long. The rest of the things we were up for were going to be televised. Pop music was popular. The performance for 6Cs was supposed to be in the middle of the show. Hopefully, they would get back in time. Since all of the other 5 members were backstage, we were just going to have to hope he got back in time. The rest of us were in the audience. Wild Child won for their Album. Wendy and Erica were not there. Jessica and Olivia had to go up and get the award on their own. They were happy to have it. I was getting concerned for them. I texted them all to make sure they were okay. It seemed that they were on their way now. I told them to hurry up.
Calling Cain now would do nothing to help. He just needed to hurry. We also won for the Best Engineered Album. I had to give a bit of a jump to get on the stage, but I made it. I gave the acceptance speech. We were then offered to sit in the back with the other winners. I wanted to check on the others. Cain was rushing down the hall to join his bandmates. They cheered for him. "You guys are on in 15." one of the managers backstage said. They were ready to go. "Alright. Everyone, have fun out there and do the routine like you practiced." Brett said. He was there to keep them in line. They nodded and went back in the dressing room. I went ahead to the VIP area that everyone else was in. We got to watch the rest of the show. The performance went without a hitch. People were not sure that they could do it. We made sure that they kept out of the public eye aside from rare interviews. All this made more fans for the band. After that, there were more award to be given out. 6Cs got the Jukie award for the Best Pop Vocal Album. However, the actual Best Album award to a Player band.
It was a good day for us. 5 awards for the clan was great for a new studio. After the show, we were invited to the after party. Everyone had a good time socializing. Drunk humans could not keep their hands off of the PEP units. I had to make sure that things did not get too out of hand. For the most part, they were able to keep things under control. They were way stronger than the average human. Some wanted to go off in private for sex. Some of the clan members took them up on the offer. Some people even came to me and the other engineers. I shot them down as I wanted to make sure that things went well. It was a good party. When things began to wind down, I had to collect the rest of the members. There was a bit of hassle stopping the fucking going on for some of them. Once all of us were together, we got on the bus. It was time to get back to the clan building. Once we got there, we had a human place the awards in a large glass case in the lobby. Things were looking up for us. Things were in a good position. People liked us and we were covert. Hopefully, we could get missions.
