Kevin turned back towards the window. "Now help me get this thing open." Suddenly, there was a chill in the air. At first, he thought it came from the window, but the window wasn't open.
"No," Julie said. "I don't want you to leave me."
"I'm not going to leave you. We're leaving together," he said, as he tried to find a way to open the window. He'd rather not smash it open. There would be too much of a chance of lacerations.
"I can't leave," Julie said.
"What are you ..." Kevin was about to ask, as he turned toward her. The person standing near him was his girlfriend, but she was no longer carrying the backpack on her back. In fact, she wasn't wearing anything that she came into the house with. Instead, she was wearing a white night gown. "Julie? Where did you get that gown from?"
She smiled. "I'm not Julie."
