When they got close enough, they saw that it really was what they thought it was - a swimming pool. The kind that were usually associated with hotels. They supposed that it was possible that a pool could be "deposited" onto the desert in the matter that they had witnessed. But this wasn't just a pool. It had water in it. Totally uncontaminated swimming pool water. If this thing had really been underground, then the sand (or even dirt, deep under) would have mixed with the water. But no. That wasn't the case.
Seth reached down towards the pool.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Lizzy warned.
"Relax," Seth said. "It's just water."
"How do you know that?" Lizzy asked. "This is an alien world. That could be acid for all you know."
Seth looked like he was hesitating, but then he thrust his hand into the water.
Lizzy gasped, but then settled down when she saw that Seth was right. It was just water. Then she slapped the back of his head.
"Ow!"
"Don't do that again," she said, as Seth rubbed his head.
"Okay, so it's definitely water," Jeremy said. "But how did it get here?"
