Not too far in the distance, a sinkhole appeared, causing the sand to drop down into the earth. But at the same time, something rose up out of the earth.
"Is that what I think it is?" Lizzy asked.
"It's just a mirage," Sarah said. "We are in a desert, you know."
"Yeah, but we've only been here a few minutes. Don't you have to be suffering from heat exhaustion before you start seeing things?"
"We'll check it out anyway," Jeremy said, stopping their argument before it got worse.
Sarah shrugged, then they all started walking towards what they thought had been "expelled" from beneath the sand.
