Just as they each were about to touch the mirror, Ally heard her grandmother. "Ally? Is your grandpa up there?" Unfortunately, the sudden sound of her grandmother's voice threw off Ally's concentration, causing both her and her grandfather to touch the mirror together.
After the blue flash of light, she found herself in a darkened storage room filled with unmarked boxes. Looking down at herself, she realized that she was in the body of the long-haired teenager. But something was wrong. She didn't feel like herself. What had happened? She tried to remember.
Her eyes went wide, as the memory came back to her. She touched the mirror at the same time as her grandfather (who, at the time, was actually the boy she saw in the mirror). So instead of the boy switching with her grandfather, Ally and the boy switched with her grandfather. So what did this mean? That the boy was back in his own body, but that Ally was there too?
And what did that mean for her grandfather? Did his mind split between his own body and Ally's body? Or was Ally's body now brain dead?
So many questions. She grabbed her head. "Man, I need a fix," she said. Then she wondered why she said that.
