Ally was about to say something, but something blue caught her eye. "Did you see that?" she asked her grandfather.
"See what? I'm sorry, Ally. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be."
"The mirror. It glowed," she said, pointing at it.
"Ally, I know you have an active imagination, but mirrors don't ..."
"Look," Ally said, cutting her grandfather off. "The reflection is wrong."
Her grandfather approached the mirror and saw that she was right. "Well, I'll be."
This time the reflection wasn't of the bedroom at all. Instead it looked like some sort of storage room.
"Where's our reflection?" her grandfather asked.
Then, suddenly, a teenage boy with long hair walked into view.
"It's like it's a window," her grandfather commented. And he was right. It was a window into another universe.
Suddenly, both her grandfather and the boy moved their hands towards the mirror. And when they touched, there was a bright blue flash. Then, almost immediately after, the glass shimmered blue again.
"Whoa, dude," her grandfather said. "That was, like, so weird."
"Grandpa?" Ally asked.
