Dawn set down a plate of fish and chips in front of Brandon and a bowl of chili in front of Donna.
"Excuse me," Donna said. "Can I have some crackers to go with this?"
"Sure," Dawn said. She walked behind the counter and grabbed some. That's when the two guys entered, one of them looking calm, but the other looking nervous.
"You in charge here?" the calm one asked Jerry.
"Yeah."
Suddenly the man pulled out a gun and stuck it in Jerry's face. "Give me the fucking money!"
Everyone in the restaurant stopped what they were doing and looked at the man with the gun.
"Okay, okay. Don't shoot. I'm doing it."
Lyndsay approached the man, hoping to divert his attention. But it all went south.
The man turned the gun on her and fired. Her body got driven back and she fell to the floor in a slump. The man didn't seem shocked or nervous. He was in control. "Stupid bitch."
He turned his attention back to Jerry, who was now shocked with wide eyes. "You give me any more shit, you're next," he told him.
Everyone was frozen with fear. They all saw what happened to Lyndsay and they didn't want to be next.
But, as Jerry was taking the cash out of the register ...
