Jimmy picked up and looked at the object that was lying on his backseat. It was a small clear bottle containing a pink liquid and was labeled LOVE POTION.
"Love Potion?" Jimmy said to himself, with a laugh. "I could use a little of that right now," he said, thinking about the fight he just had with his girlfriend. He opened the bottle and gulped down a good portion of the liquid, not thinking too hard about the consequences. For all he knew, it could have been poison. But it wasn't. It turned out that it didn't have any taste, it was like drinking water.
Behind him came more curses and honking. "Hey! I told you to move it, you fucking asshole!" the guy behind him yelled out. Jimmy turned around and saw that the guy was getting out of his car. Big mistake, buddy, Jimmy thought.
The guy briskly walked towards Jimmy's convertible, meaning to make Jimmy move his car.
"What's wrong with ..." The guy stopped and stared at Jimmy. Then he began to smile. Jimmy wondered why. Then the guy bent down and kissed Jimmy on the lips.
Jimmy pushed him off. "Man, get off of me! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"I love you," he said dreamily. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Jimmy stared at him with unbelieving eyes. Man, I am so out of here, he thought, then suddenly floored it, leaving the guy standing in the middle of the road.
Jimmy drove as fast as he could to his girlfriend's apartment, occasionally checking his rear view mirror to see if that guy was chasing him. He wasn't, but Jimmy had a feeling that he would.
He looked down at the Love Potion bottle. Could it be that that guy was acting that way because the Love Potion was real? If it were real, why would it affect other guys? Why not women too? Or why not just women? He turned the bottle around and saw that there was a warning label on the back. It stated that only two drops should be taken, that if any more were taken the results would be disastrous. Jimmy gulped down nearly all the liquid, save for the little bit still left at the bottom. That was certainly more than two drops!
At a stoplight, Jimmy had to wait for a red light. And while he did so, a young woman on a bicycle stopped next to his car. Her head slowly turned towards him, and she smiled. She got off her bike, letting it drop to the street, and walked over to Jimmy's convertible. "Hey, mister," she said, seductively, before bending down and kissing him.
Behind him, he heard honking. "Hey, buddy! The light's green. Move it!"
Jimmy pushed the lovestruck woman away from him. She was still smiling. "I've gotta go," he said, stepping on the gas.
"At least give me your phone number!" she yelled.
He found a parking spot, right in front of the building, then jumped out and walked down the sidewalk to the entrance. On the way there, two 13-year old girls walked by, then they turned around and followed Jimmy.
"Hi," one of them said, getting up close to him, blocking his path. The other moved up close as well, meaning to kiss him.
This is ridiculous, he thought, then bolted towards the door and ran inside. He was all for some female love, but not that kind.
Apparently, whatever this Love Potion was, it made anyone who came close to him fall in love with him, despite whether they're a man or woman.
He ran up to the third floor and to his girlfriend's apartment, out of breath from all his running. Then he knocked on her door.
