Chris stood there on the sidewalk, watching crowds of people bustle by, continuing their normal everyday lives. Chris wanted that. He needed that. But there was no way back. How could there be?

He looked down at the thing he held in his hand. That curs-ed thing. When he obtained it a few months before, he considered himself the luckiest man on the planet. But that changed soon after, when he discovered that not everything was as it seemed. Now he wished he had never found it. He clutched it in his hand.

He looked up at the people again. He knew he had to get rid of this thing, but he didn't want some poor soul to obtain it, just like he did. No, he couldn't just throw it away. At least, not anonymously. Suddenly, an idea struck him. Give it to someone that deserves it. And right at that moment, the perfect victim came into sight. A local thug named Jimmy.

Chris watched as Jimmy's convertible turned the corner just down the street. Suddenly, all the crowds of people became a blur. He was focused only on one thing. Jimmy. If anyone deserved the fate of this cursed thing, it was him.

As the car moved closer, Chris continued to stare. But Jimmy didn't see him, and he didn't see what came next.

When the car came close enough, Chris tossed the object into the backseat.

It was done.


Jimmy drove down the street, holding the cellphone up to his ear.

"You better be ready, baby," he said, then paused as he listened to his girlfriend. Well, girlfriend might have been the wrong word for it. Jimmy slept around with so many girls. This one was going to accompany him to the club, the one that his brother owned.

"Yeah, yeah," he answered back, before putting his phone away. "Bitch."

He turned a corner and drove down the street to pick up his "girl". On the way there, however, he was startled by a noise that came from behind him.

"What the fuck?! Did somebody throw something at me?" he yelled out to no one in particular. He slammed on the brakes and looked in the backseat.

"Hey! Move your ass!" the driver behind him yelled. Several other drivers joined in by honking their horns. But Jimmy wasn't paying any attention to them. He was looking at the object lying on his backseat. He picked it up and looked at it.
