"Okay." Zelda said. "Being zapped with the Punk Gun is interesting and all. But part of me still wants to be a cybergoth. It's part of who I am. If I change my mind later, you can always get the Punk Gun back and zap me with it."
Athena nodded. "Okay, here we go." And with that, she zapped Zelda with the Goth Gun.
Instantly, Zelda's appearance changed. Her hair went from spiky to being neon color dreads. She was now wearing her usual style of cybergoth clothing: a black corset accentuated with neon colors, a leather vest, pants (also in shades of dark but accentuated with bright neon colors), and platform boots. When she took a look at herself, she smiled.
"Yes! I'm me again!" Zelda proclaimed. She breathed a sigh of relief.
Athena nodded. "It looks like it worked. In your case, anyway."
"In my case?" Zelda asked.
"Earlier, Trevor got zapped with the Emo Gun. The Goth Gun might work just the same way it did with you, turning him back into the kind of Goth he was before. Or it might make him an Emo Goth of some sort." Athena replied.
"You said something about a Restoration Gun. Does that do what I think it does?" Zelda asked.
"We don't know what they do." Athena said. "But apparently, the Transformation Guns all came from McMillan Tech Industries. They were sent here by some worker in the tech department who went crazy. If what Jay's mother said is true, this worker locked up a bunch of Restoration Guns in a storage locker, and Jay's mother and Kyla Leeson's cousin are trying to get that locker open even as we speak."
"Did she say anything more about them?" Zelda asked.
"Not really. We got interrupted by the Principal's announcement, which sort of changed the subject." Athena said. "Then she had to end the phone call."
"So that was the Principal on the intercom?" Zelda asked.
"I'm pretty sure it was. The Principal must have been zapped with a Transformation Gun." Athena replied.
"I wonder which one." Zelda mused.
"Jay's mother blurted out that it might be the Babe Gun." Athena said.
"The Babe Gun?" Zelda said. "I heard rumors about it. I heard Becky Rodder and Gladys Brewer zapped themselves with it, and they're slimmer and ridiculously beautiful now. You wouldn't recognize them anymore."
Athena paused. She wasn't sure what to make of it. "Anyway, until we get a hold of the Restoration Guns, it seems like people are stuck as they are now unless someone zaps them with another Transformation Gun. But some people seem happy with their changes, and might not want to go back anyway."
At this point, Reggie the cheerleader and Brad the Asian Goth Girl approached, carrying the Punk Gun and the Hillbilly Gun. "We're about to go back to the Principal's office." Reggie said. "Do you still need the Goth Gun?"
"I think I'll hold on to this for now." Athena said. "I still have a friend I need to use it on. He got zapped with the Emo Gun and seemed really miserable the last I saw him. How's Moose, by the way?"
"Jessica and Erika are talking to him." Reggie said. "He's still tired, but he seems to be okay. He's a lot more interested in 'Goth rock' than he was before, though."
"Not surprising." Athena said. She turned to take a look at Mike 'Moose' Matthews. He was now sitting on a chair, with Jessica Davis and Allison Wright talking to him. He was accepting the gifts of water and juice that they were giving him. Erika Weber, meanwhile, walked away to talk to other people.
Erika Weber had always been on the athletic side. Being a cheerleader required gymnastics and some athleticism to do all the tricks required in many cheerleading routines. But now she appeared even more athletic than she had previously. Seeing as how Jay Duncan wished to talk to her, and that Moose was going to be all right, she walked over to Jay Duncan.
"Okay, what is it you wanted to talk about?" Erika asked.
"I was wondering if you knew where the Jock Gun was." Jay replied. "Leonard said you took it, and it looks like you zapped yourself with it."
"Yeah." said Erika. "Cheerleading's great and all that, but I want to do more than that. I thought maybe the Jock Gun would help me get into the other girls' sports around here. Track and field, soccer, softball, baseball, whatever."
"Do you think it'll work for you?" Jay asked.
"I don't know. Coach Barry said she wasn't sure about it." Erika said. "We're already halfway through the school year, but new team additions are still possible. But she doesn't know what to make of the Jock Gun. She wasn't sure if it was right for people to use it to take shortcuts instead of working hard and training hard, so she locked it up in her locker until she decided whether it was a good thing or not."
"It's helped a few people out anyway." Jay replied. "Leonard's happier than I've ever seen him."
"Yeah. There's that, anyway." Erika said.
"Thanks anyway." Jay said. It was at that moment he received texts from Kyla Leeson asking about the progress in the cafeteria.
As he went about his reply, he noted how things seemed to be calming down at the school in general. He only hoped things were starting to calm down elsewhere.
