"Officer, my wife needs help. She's ..."
Charlie spaced off for a moment. He still couldn't believe what was happening to him. First he ends up an a totally empty Los Angeles, then he meets this strange man that appears out of clouds of blue dust, then he finds himself in the body of a woman, and then finds out that he apparently has the ability to move from one body to another. It all seemed to incredible to be real.
"Hey!" the man yelled, breaking Charlie out of his thoughts. "Are you listening to me? I said someone stole my wife's purse. They beat her up pretty bad. Aren't you going to call an ambulance or something?"
Charlie wasn't a real cop. He had no idea how to do what this guy wanted. Oh, he could call 911, but what would he say to them?
Right now, this situation needed a cop and Charlie was going to give it one. He reached for the man's hand and touched it.
Just like before, he felt a strange suction sensation all over his body. He closed his eyes and when he opened them, he was in the man's body.
"Can you show me where your wife is, sir?" the cop urgently asked him.
Charlie didn't know where the guy's wife was. He had to get out of his body and quick. Fortunately, he was in a busy city. He could just grab someone when they passed by.
"Sir?" the cop asked.
