Suddenly, Steve's stomach grumbled. "I guess that means I'm hungry."

"I'll get food for you. Stay here."

As Jason put on a pair of black buckled boots from the closet, Steve asked "Why are you helping me? I thought you didn't like me."

"You're my brother now. I have to look out for you." It was true. Jason felt like they were family now. They had a bond.

"Okay."

Then Jason left the apartment. He decided to grab someone off the street instead of someone else from the apartment complex.

As he walked down the street, he noted how much he loved being out at night. He looked up at the full moon and smiled. The moonlight and the darkness. It all felt good. He wasn't sure, though, if these were feelings he was getting from Steve or if he was feeling them because he was a vampire now.

Walking further, he began to smell something in the air. It was human blood, he could actually sense it. He turned the corner and saw three hookers loitering. He smiled. One of those would do and they wouldn't really be missed.

About twenty minutes later, Steve heard a knock at his door, so he opened it. Jason was there, carrying a woman over his shoulder.

"Dinner is served," he said, placing her on Steve's kitchen table.

Steve bent over her and was about to feed, but Jason warned him to not feed on her neck, because that would turn her into a vampire and they didn't want that.

So, instead, Steve began gnawing on her arm. She was already gagged, so her screams traveled no further than Steve's kitchen. After it was over, and the hooker was dead, there was blood everywhere. On the table, on the floor. Jason helped clean it up, by licking it up. He wasn't hungry at the moment, but it was still blood.

"You changed," Jason said, referring to Steve's shirt. He hadn't noticed until now.

Steve had swapped out his fishnet shirt for a black T-shirt. "Oh, yeah. I don't like my fishnets."

"Really?"

"Yeah. It's weird, though. Just a few hours ago I liked wearing that stuff, but now I feel uncomfortable in them."

"I feel the same way. Except the opposite."

Steve looked up and down Jason, noting the nylon shirt, long black leather skirt, and leather boots. "That's obvious."

"It's like we exchanged desires when I turned you."

"Is that normal?"

Jason shrugged. He didn't know.

"What are you going to do with the body?" he asked Jason.

"It can't stay here. I'll have to go bury it." He looked at the clock. Almost five o'clock. The sun would be coming up in about an hour. In most of the vampire movies Jason had seen, the sun had an adverse effect on vampires. He wasn't sure if the same was true in real life, but he didn't want to stick around after sunrise to find out. He'd have to hurry and bury the hooker and get back to the apartment before the sun came up.

They wrapped the body in garbage bags and Jason lifted her up over his shoulder and left.

He drove his car, which he suddenly had a distaste for. Aqua blue? He liked Steve's car more. Black. Anyway, it took him about fifteen minutes to drive out to a spot on the outskirts of town that he thought was the perfect burying spot. And it took him another twenty to thirty minutes to dig the grave, throw the body in, and bury it.

As he drove back, he saw the sky lighten in east. The sun was about come up.

He drove faster.
